What is a legacy?
Chapter Legacy Policies
Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Chi Omega does not provide preferential treatment to legacies or any other Potential New Members in the recruitment process.
Alpha Delta Pi
Alpha Delta Pi does not give preferential treatment to legacies.
Chi Omega
A sister or a daughter of a Chi Omega in good standing. Granddaughters, cousins, and nieces of Chi Omegas have close ties but are not legacies to Chi Omega. Someone whose sister and mother are initiated Chi Omegas in good standing may be referred to as a double legacy. *The Governing Council asks for courteous attention and respect to be extended to a Potential New Member with Chi Omega relatives. A chapter must invite a legacy to at least one formal recruitment event unless there is only one invitational event, or invitational numbers do not allow due to restrictive numbers governed by Panhellenic invitation.
Delta Delta Delta
Delta Delta Delta does not have a legacy policy.
Delta Gamma
Legacies within Delta Gamma will be celebrated but will not receive preferential treatment as a potential new member. Once a bid is offered the new member's DG relative can embrace their legacy but until they become a Delta Gamma new member by the chapter's choice, they are equal to all other potential new members.
Gamma Phi Beta
Legacies are automatically invited back to Philanthropy round if they meet our grade requirement of 3.4 GPA. After Philanthropy round, it is based off PNMS scores only to determine if they will be invited back to Sisterhood round.
Kappa Alpha Theta
A Kappa Alpha Theta legacy is defined as a daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, or sister or the same step-relation of a Kappa Alpha Theta member. Cousins and nieces of Kappa Alpha Thetas have close ties, but are not Kappa Alpha Theta legacies. Being designated a Kappa Alpha Theta legacy does not guarantee membership in Kappa Alpha Theta, nor do legacies receive preferential treatment during recruitment.

A legacy is any woman who is the daughter, granddaughter or sister of an initiated Kappa Delta member in good standing – including half and step-relatives! It is important to note that being a KD legacy does not guarantee an invitation or membership.
